Inauguaral Girls’ Tournament - Sunday 7th March 2010
This wonderful festival of rugby sevens has now been opened up to
girls.
The 2010 Tournament is to be the inaugural girls’ tournament
and invitations are invited for schools to take part.
We have decided to start modestly with a group of eight schools
invited. The format will be two groups of four teams with each school
having a minimum of three games with the winner of each pool going
through to the final.
The pool games will take place at Old Parkonians Rugby Club (see
map for location) with registration between 8.45am and 9.30am with
the first game kicking off at 10am.
The pool games will finish by 2pm and all the girls’ teams
will go to Birkenhead Park where lunch boxes will be provided for
the players and up to two organisers. The girls will then have a
chance to watch the latter stages of the competition for the Kukri
Trophy and Boodle & Dunthorne Plate and the girls’ final.
Assistance with overnight accommodation cost may be provided if
you are based more than 100 miles from Birkenhead and need a hotel
or lodge. Travel assistance is given for a mini bus on a rate per
mile basis.
I do hope that you will accept this wonderful opportunity for the
girls to take part in the North of England Schools Invitation Sevens
and I look forward to meeting you at the event.
